Baby Dave bumps his head

Today we took our first trip to the emergency room with Baby Dave. We were just finishing up at the dentist office with Clay and Kristen when I turned around to tell Baby Dave it was time to go. He took off running and giggling as most 13 month olds do when they realize you're trying to get them. He tripped on the carpet and hit the middle of his forehead right on a corner of a wall. I do not handle blood very well especially when it's my child so I immediately went into panic mode. Thank the Lord for a wonderful Dentist and staff who helped me to press the wound together and bandage it enough to stop the bleeding so we could drive to the emergency room. After waiting 30 minutes to see a doctor, a set of x-rays, a huge numbing needle and 6 stitches I was still able to get this precious smile from my little boy. He was such a trooper through it all and has already been looking for the next thing to get into or fall off of.

And no, we don't normally go around shirtless in January. It was 66 degrees here today and after screaming under the bright surgical light for 15 minutes we had to lose the shirt.

Christmas with the McConnell Family

I can't believe the Holiday's are here and we have already had our McConnell family Christmas. Where did this past year go? Our entire McConnell family had a fun-filled evening planned to go out for dinner and to an outdoor "Walk Through Bethlehem" however; the weather did not hold out for us...bummer! Papa San and Gigi ended up picking up a few pizza's and we partied at our house. We still had a wonderful time despite the yucky weather!

Fun with Aunt Kelsey

I woke up this morning excited about meeting up with Kelsey and taking Hailey shopping for her second "Wedding Princess" dress this year. We had so much fun shopping with Ami at the beginning of the year and I was looking forward to doing this again thinking we would be a pro at this the second time around. (The first time we had to bribe her with chocolate to get her to change out of her princess dress) Well, we met up with Kelsey at the Bridal store and then it was Hailey who took charge....she immediately layed eyes on the ONLY dress she was willing to try on. UGHH!! I tried bribing, I tried threatening, I tried EVERYTHING....there is absolutely no negotiating with a two year old so someone had to take charge! Kelsey and I forced her (kicking and screaming) out of dress #1 and into dress #2 and 3! I am so thankful for my patient and loving sisters...I love that they can still put on a happy face and love my children even on days like this morning.

After our trip to the Bridal store Kelsey, her friend Caitlyn and my crew spent the rest of our afternoon at the pool. The kids and I had a blast swimming and hanging out...it really turned out to be a wonderful day! Here are a few pics of the kids enjoying our fun in the sun!

Daddy and baby David

Today was the last day of school before our Christmas break so Nanny came over to bake Christmas cookies with the kids. They had a great time for about the first hour until they lost interest in baking and just wanted to eat. Hailey wasn't so sure about trying her first cookie so Nanny took the first bite to show her it was yummy. Hailey in no way appreciated Nanny taking a bite out of her cookie and surprised us all by looking at her sternly and telling her to "spit it out". Everything is all fun and games until you mess with Hailey's food. We had a blast today...thanks to Nanny!! I wasn't able to capture pics of the cookie making process as I was tied up with the baby but here are a couple of the little ones after we were done.

Clay in action
Kristen and Clay with their championship trophy balls

Saturday was a busy day of sports. Clay and Kristen had a championship tournament for soccer and their team won!! We started the morning off with a soccer game then had to run over to the gym to watch Brittany's basketball game and then it was back to the field for the final championship game. I only wish I had as much energy as they do!
